The 2025 season as a whole was a good season not a great season as far as weights & catches went. The 961.14 total lbs. weighed & the 384 bass caught both rank 8th all time. The 2.50 average weight faired a little better at 6th all time. Now as far a individual season went nobody had a better season than Gene & Larry Henck, they won the AOY title for the third time in the last four years & it was Gene's 5th AOY & Larry's 4th. Their finishes were 1st, 2nd, 9th, 1st & 3rd so a well deserved AOY title, JOB WELL DONE BOYS. So the last time somebody won AOY & their names weren't Henck it was Joe Wilcox & Eric Hermansen who won it in 2023 & they compiled a heck of a season themselves this year placing 2nd & cashing a check in all 5 tournaments with a 4th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd & 2nd place finishes. These two hammer teams also brought in the 2 largest bags of the year both from Yellow Lake Hencks w/18.52 & Wilcox/Herm w/18.18, That day Yellow produced a 2.96 pound average catch which was 4th highest ever, 2nd if you excluded the 2 Shell Lake baby robber derbys. The biggest bass this year was caught by Chad Constantineau a 5.18 pound largemouth on LCO, the biggest since 2019. Second high was Rob Newhouse's 4.70 lb. smallie on Sissabagama which helped him and Mike Anselmo win the Tournament of Champions. Rob being a former pro & Mike at the very top of the tackle industry it hardly seems fair for the rest of us. Other champions were Gene Henck/Larry Henck twice, Gary Constant/Stacy Anderson & Steve Constant/Doug Richert. This year's Head to Head Tournament winners were Steve Constant & Doug Richert. Next year's meeting will be upon us before you know it. Good Luck Hunting Everybody.
